On 22 July, Manuel Aguirre, PhD and Dean of this faculty, was
awarded with the Order Dr. Edgardo Buitrago Buitrago, by the
Universidad de Occidente (U.D.O.)- Leon, Nicaragua, for his
generosity and transference of knowledge in the area of Exact
Sciences.
This Order is the highest distinction awarded by the UDO to
those that contribute with their knowledge to the development and
strengthening of academic and scientific fields of study for the
benefit of the society as a whole.
It is worth remembering that on July, 9 Manuel Aguirre received
the degree Honoris Causa of Sciences awarded by the university
Universidad Nacional Autònoma de Nicaragua, UNAN-Managua, within
the celebration activities for the 50 th. Anniversary of the School
of Education Sciences.
On that occasion, the university council of UNAM-Managua
unanimously decided to award Manuel Aguirre the degree Honoris
Causa on account of having devoted his life to teaching at all
levels of the national education system; particularly, he has
evidenced an outstanding participation in teaching and researching
activities in the field of mathematics at the university level.
This, in addition to his scientific production and well known
professional career, define him as a valuable example for the
university community.
